A 20-year-old man has been charged with animal cruelty after police say he fired multiple rounds upon a cat with a BB gun.

Police were called to a Glendale apartment complex on reports that Malcolm Jamil Dotson was firing a BB gun at a cat.

A witness told officers the subject fired at least 10 rounds with a BB gun. Officers located the subject and found a black BB gun and a baggie of BB's in his backpack.

Dotson was charged with intentional animal cruelty, inflicting injury upon an animal, reckless animal cruelty, and disorderly conduct involving a weapon.

There's no information on how badly hurt the cat was or if it survived.
