weak sentence = one star

more information on voting

When you vote, you are voting on whether or not the punishment fit the crime, NOT on the severity of the case itself. If you feel the sentence was very weak, you would vote 1 star. If you feel the sentence was very strong, you would vote 5 stars.

Please vote honestly and realistically. These ratings will be used a a tool for many future programs, including a "People’s Choice" of best and worst sentencing, DA and judge "report cards", and more. Try to resist the temptation to vote 1 star on every case, even if you feel that 100 years in prison isn’t enough.

Defendant/Suspect: Henry Green

Two dozen sheep and handful of dogs, cats and birds were seized from a Haycock home this week after the Bucks County SPCA was alerted to unsanitary conditions.

Officials removed the animals from the home of Henry Green on Mountainview Drive near Lake Nockamixon on Tuesday and Wednesday after receiving a tip.

Green was cited with cruelty to animals, pleaded guilty and will pay a $400 fine.

The sheep, including rams, ewes and lambs, were discovered covered in deep wet mud and manure in a paddock, which provided inadequate shelter, said SPCA humane officer Kathy Myron.

The property is partially wooded near the boat marina and gets very wet.

Three border collies, one German shepherd, three cats, one cockatoo, and one parakeet living inside the house were also removed after officials found unsanitary conditions.

The SPCA had been called to the Green home two years ago and found inadequate conditions for the sheep. The owners agreed to take corrective action and were not cited, said Myron.

SPCA officials said the Greens were very cooperative throughout the investigation. Officials will keep an eye on the property since there are chickens still living there.
