Cat disembowled, dismembered
Oklahoma City, OK (US)

Incident Date: Monday, Mar 7, 2011
County: Oklahoma

Disposition: Alleged

Alleged: Angelina K. Barnes

An Oklahoma City woman disemboweled a cat, mutilated the eyes and put the liver in a makeup box, police allege.

Angelina K. Barnes, 20, was charged Monday in Oklahoma County District Court with animal cruelty. Police report she is currently at a state mental hospital in Norman.

Barnes lived with a step-aunt, police reported.

The relative arrived home late March 7 to find the house dark, the light switches covered with duct tape and Barnes dressed in a large rain coat with red streaks of cat blood on her face, police reported. Barnes claimed she was ready to go to a Lady GaGa concert.

A police officer described the bathroom as in disarray; purple hair dye was splashed all over and blood was on the counter, sink and tub. The officer reported the cat was "sliced down the belly."

The police officer reported Barnes asked her step-aunt for help and was taken to a hospital. There, she "pulled a jagged piece of glass from her purse and said she was going to hurt the male intake nurse," the officer reported.
