Suspect(s) Unknown - We need your help!

An un-named dog wearing an old, unidentifiable rabies tag, was brought to the shelter yesterday with severe burns.

Something, either a type of chemical or scalding water, literally melted the skin from the Retriever's face and body.

So severe were the injuries that the maimed dog passed away in the afternoon hours at the shelter.

Anyone that knows anything about this dog is asked to phone the Guilford County Animal Shelter at (336) 297-5020. The dog was picked up on Lake Brandt Road.

The person responsible for this act of cruelty will faces charges under Susie's Law, legislation implemented in order to mandate that cases of severe animal cruelty carry stiffer penalties.
