Kathy White is desperate to find answers after her 8-month-old kitten is tortured.

"I'm hurt, I'm angry", says White.

Her kitten was found on her front porch with her front legs bound by a zip tie. It was tied so tight, circulation was cut off.

White says the kitten got out of the house almost two weeks ago. After she didn't return, White thought someone had stolen her.

Last Saturday, nine days after she was last seen, her kitten was on the front porch with her legs tied with a zip tie.

The zip tie was immediately cut off and White called the vet. The wounds were so deep that the kitten's bones were exposed. It's believed that zip tie was on the kitten's legs for several days.

White made the difficult decision to have her kitten put to sleep since her prognosis was so bad.

Now, White is posting flyers and offering a $100 reward for information leading to the person responsible.

Case Updates

The Michigan Humane Society is offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the individual or individuals responsible for torturing an 8-month-old kitten in Brighton earlier this week.

The reward is being offered in support of Livingston County Animal Control's current investigation of the case.

The kitten was found on her owner's porch with a zip line tied so tightly around her legs that it had caused the bone to be exposed. Her feet were extremely swollen and an infection had already traveled up her leg. Due to the extent of her injuries, it is likely that the kitten had suffered with the zip line wrapped around her leg for quite a few days before being located by her owner. The kitten had to be euthanized as a result of her ordeal.

The abuse is believed to have occurred at or near Brighton Village, located at 7500 Grand River Avenue in Brighton.
