Jill E. Rix allegedly locked between 30 and 50 cats in a building on her property, failed to provide food or water. The cats lived in that condition for months. When found by rescuers, only 5 cats were alive, the floor was covered with skeletons and decomposing cats. There were 32 cats and 3 dogs rescued from inside her "home", which was filled with feces, urine and starving animals.  A warrant was issued for her arrest but Rix skipped town before it could be served.

The Hillsdale County Michigan Prosecutor, Neal A. Brady, has issued a single warrant - misdemeanor animal cruelty. Michigan law provides for felony charges against anyone who willingly kills an animal.

Rix plea bargained an animal cruelty case in 2001 that she was charged with, receiving a fine of only $25.00.

Rix also was in animal rescue until she was charged with animal cruelty.  She is believed to be with her husband Mike Fsadni.
