Joshua Glasper, 23, is being held on $20,000 bond on an aggravated cruelty to animals charge, said Sheriff Craig Webre, a spokesman for the Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office.

Webre said Glasper, who lives at 1416 Palmisano Dr. in Bayou Blue, had become angry and threw a cat to a pit bull that was chained in the backyard. The dog attacked and killed the cat before anyone could intervene, Webre said.

A female at the home reported the incident to deputies. Deputies arrived at the scene to find the cat dead in the dog's dog house, Webre said.

Webre said Glasper also had an arrest warrant with no bond out of Terrebonne Parish on child support issues.
