Police say several shots were fired near a residence on County Road 800N in Jennings County Tuesday, injuring a dog that later had to be put down and leaving two juveniles in police custody.
According to a report from the Jennings County Sheriff�s Department, units were dispatched to the residence in reference to shots being fired into the home. Upon the officers� arrival, deputies met with the property owner, who said that someone had shot through a trailer.
Deputies Jason Bliton and Tommy McIntosh went into the woods to look for a shooter when a shot was fired but were unable to locate anyone, the report stated. The owner of the residence then found that three of her dogs were shot, one of which had to be put down later Tuesday night.
According to the report, a short time later deputies were able to locate two male juveniles who were responsible for the shooting. In a taped interview with one of the juveniles, he admitted to trying to kill the dogs, police said.
Both juveniles were placed on house arrest on charges of criminal recklessness with a firearm, animal cruelty and criminal trespassing, the sheriff�s department report said. References« Back to Search Results
