County: Snohomish

Charges: Felony CTA
Disposition: Alleged

Alleged: Eric L. Potter

Snohomish County Sheriff's deputies have arrested a man who allegedly killed a puppy by stomping on its head during a dispute with his girlfriend.

Eric L. Potter, 30, was booked into the Snohomish County Jail on Sept. 23 for investigation of first-degree animal cruelty, fourth-degree domestic violence assault and malicious mischief.

According to court documents, deputies were called to a home in the 41400 block of Larson Drive where Potter's girlfriend told deputies that Potter hit her and broke several windows before stepping on the head of one of her puppies.

Potter allegedly struggled with deputies when they tried to arrest him and later admitted that he smashed the puppy's head before taking it outside to "finish it off," according to the documents.

Deputies found the dead puppy in a bush nearby.
