A miniature horse named Short Stuff has been reported missing by an equine rescue group and might have been stolen.

The stallion went missing Nov. 25 from Blaze's Tribute Equine Rescue in Jones, said Mark Myers, Oklahoma County sheriff's spokesman.

Short Stuff is 18 years old and partially blind. Rescue workers do not think the horse wandered off on its own. There were no holes in the corral.

Six other miniature horses are kept in the corral and are up for adoption at 17667 Markita Drive.

Natalee Gae Cross, 36, owner of the rescue operation, said Short Stuff was seized in an animal cruelty case in November that involved seven miniature horses and six full-size horses in northeast Edmond. The horses had been neglected, Cross said.

Short Stuff was not in good enough condition to be adopted, Cross said.

"I would love for somebody to turn him back in. He needs medical attention and needs to be treated," she said. "I just want him returned."

Case Updates

A miniature horse that had been reported missing by Blaze's Tribute Equine Rescue was returned Thursday, Oklahoma County Sheriff spokesman Mark Myers said.

The miniature horse named Short Stuff had been reported missing by the equine rescue group Thanksgiving Day.

Myers said Short Stuff was returned by a woman who said she took the horse home after finding it earlier in the week near the intersection of Triple XXX and Britton Road. It still isn't known how the horse got out of a corral or whether it was stolen, Myers said.

Short Stuff is 18 years old and partially blind. Rescue workers don't think the horse wandered off on its own. There were no holes in the corral.

Six other miniature horses are kept in the corral at 17667 Markita Drive and are available for adoption.

Natalee Gae Cross, 36, owner of the rescue operation, said Short Stuff was seized in an animal cruelty case in November that involved seven miniature horses and six regular-size horses in northeast Edmond.

The horses had been neglected, Cross said.

Short Stuff is not in good enough condition to be adopted, Cross said.
