Alleged: Heather Remmele
Tuesday night, Animal Services took emergency custody of five dogs in poor condition from a home at 14025 SE 94th Court. An officer found the pit bull mixes while working another case. Owner, Heather Remmele, 26, refused to provide veterinary care for the dogs even though their conditions ranged from "extreme emaciation" and muscle atrophy to skin problems and teeth erosion, according to a staff veterinarian's cruelty evaluation.
Animal Services brought the dogs to the Animal Center and give them vet assessments, vaccinations, food and clean living quarters.
The animals are not available for adoption at this time, but officials plan to petition the court for custody. References« FL State Animal Cruelty Map « More cases in Marion County, FL
