On November 14, 2010, at about 2:09 p.m., Sheriff's Dispatch received a report of a traffic collision in the area of Lukens Lane and San Jacinto Avenue, an unincorporated area of Riverside County known as Mead Valley. Perris Station deputies responded to the location and arrived within minutes. They discovered a green Mercury sedan had collided with another vehicle and several fixed objects along Lukens Lane. Deputies further discovered the driver of the green sedan had received multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The victim was later identified as Alfredo Sanchez Garcia, a 23-year-old resident of Good Hope. There was also a large-sized dog inside the green sedan that was also struck by gunfire and died as a result of its injuries.
Investigators from the Perris Station and investigators from the Sheriff's Central Homicide Unit responded and assumed the investigation.
