Police received a report of animal cruelty on Saturday, Oct. 23. A puppy reportedly had both ears cut off and was bleeding when police and Humane Society officials arrived at 120 North 8th St.

The pup was taken to the Horn Lake Animal Hospital for emergency surgery.
