In a joint investigation Berkeley County Sheriff's and Florence County Sheriff's Deputies arrested seven people Saturday involved in a dog fighting and baiting at a residence on Nolton Lane in Moncks Corner.
1. Willienn Darnell Peace, age 33, Nolton Lane Moncks Corner charged with Dog Fighting and Baiting.
2. Tyrone Washington, age 32, Fennick Drive Moncks Corner charged with Dog Fighting and Baiting, and possession of Marijuana.
3. Henry Gee, age 62, Lynchburg Road Lynchburg SC charged with Dog Fighting and Baiting.
4. Marion Johnson, age 29, Alabama Drive North Charleston SC charged with Dog Fighting and Baiting.
5. Robert Watkins, age 46, Cross Street Raleigh North Carolina charged with Dog Fighting and Baiting.
6. Jermaine Peace, age 36, Goose Creek SC charged with Dog Fighting and Baiting.
7. Adrian Ingram, age 33, Macormick Street Sumter SC charged with Dog Fighting and Baiting.
Deputies seized approximately 14-thousand dollars, 19 dogs, 6 puppies and one firearm from the suspects and property.
The suspects are booked into The Hill-Fenklea Detention Center in Moncks Corner, and they will receive a bond hearing within 24 hours of their booking.
The penatlty for dog fighting for bystanders or first time offenders is six months in jail or a $500 fine. Those caught baiting dogs or contributing to dog fighting face up to five years in prison or a $5,000 fine.
Berkeley county is still investigating the ring and will turn over their evidence to the solicitor's office once they complete their investigation.
Case UpdatesAt least five of the 19 dogs seized on October 30th in a Berkeley County home will be euthanized.
Officials say the dogs need to be put down because of health or temperament issues.
Seven people were arrested during the raid in Moncks Corner. They are charged with dog fighting and baiting.
