County: Shenandoah

Disposition: Alleged

Alleged: Ronald Mark Charnock

A 51-year-old man is in trouble after he allegedly shot a neighbor's cat.

Shenandoah County Sheriff's Maj. Scott Proctor said that a deputy was dispatched to the 100 block of Fox Haven Lane at about 4:45 p.m. on Oct. 18.

A man said that on Oct. 16 his neighbor, Ronald Mark Charnock, of 62 Fox Haven Lane, had shot his cat, Proctor said.

Proctor said it's thought the cat, which survived the initial injury, was shot by a 22-caliber rifle, Proctor said.

He didn't have the cat's condition on Thursday.

Charnock, who is charged with animal cruelty, is scheduled to appear in Shenandoah County General District Court on Nov. 12.
