Cat shot in the head with arrow
Sioux City, IA (US)

Incident Date: Wednesday, Oct 6, 2010
County: Woodbury

Disposition: Open

Suspect(s) Unknown - We need your help!

They say cats have nine lives, but one Siouxland cat now may only have eight left.

Chelsie Campbell will never forget the phone call she got from her brother a few weeks ago.

Something had happened to her beloved cat Charlie.

"Charlie just walked through the living room with an arrow through his head. And he was purring and eating and went and laid on the couch," says Campbell.

Charlie had been shot in the head by an arrow.

He was rushed to the vet and Campbell was expecting the worst, but the vet had some good news for her.

"He said he was very lucky. If the arrow had been sharper with a little more speed it would have went through his skull. Cause the arrow hit the skull and it ricocheted around cause it didn't go through the skull and it came out through its ear so it's pretty much all in his cheek," explains Campbell.

After an overnight stay at the vet, Charlie was ready to go home and now he is back to his normal ways.

But with one new rule.

"He tries to go outside but I'm not taking that chance again. I'm making him be an inside cat from now on," says Campbell.

Campbell has been in contact with the police about the incident but so far there are no leads. She says she doesn't want to press charges, but would like an apology and help paying for the vet bill.
