Two dogs severely neglected in home
Gallatin, TN (US)

Incident Date: Saturday, Oct 9, 2010
County: Sumner

Disposition: Alleged

Alleged: Palmer Danielle Fugatt

A Gallatin woman was arrested Saturday after police discovered two dogs in her residence, deprived of food and water and too weak to bark or stand.

Police responded to an animal call on Jones Street on Oct. 9. At the scene, police found a pitbull puppy and a dachshund puppy without food or water for five days. The room was filled with “filth and feces” and the odor was described as overwhelming. The animals were taken into the custody of animal control, according to affidavits filed in Sumner County General Sessions Court.

Palmer Danielle Fugatt, 23, is charged with two counts of animal cruelty.

Fugatt’s criminal history includes a misdemeanor felony domestic assault conviction in July 2007. She was also found guilty of simple marijuana possession in April 2007.

She is free on $1,000 composite bond. She is scheduled to appear in Sumner County General Sessions Court on Nov. 17.
