more information on voting
When you vote, you are voting on whether or not the punishment fit the crime, NOT on the severity of the case itself. If you feel the sentence was very weak, you would vote 1 star. If you feel the sentence was very strong, you would vote 5 stars.
Please vote honestly and realistically. These ratings will be used a a tool for many future programs, including a "Peoples Choice" of best and worst sentencing, DA and judge "report cards", and more. Try to resist the temptation to vote 1 star on every case, even if you feel that 100 years in prison isnt enough.

Puppy beaten, kicked and strangled Soquel, CA (US)Incident Date: Tuesday, Aug 17, 2010 County: Santa Cruz
Charges: Misdemeanor Disposition: Convicted
Defendant/Suspect: Joash Klinger
A Watsonville man pleaded guilty this week to animal abuse and other charges for beating, kicking and strangling his 11-month-old puppy in Soquel earlier this summer and was sentenced to two years probation, authorities said.
Joash Klinger, 30, also was banned from owning dogs, deadly weapons or drugs while on probation, according to Todd Stosuy, field supervisor for the county Animal Services Authority.
Klinger was abusing the dog, a German short-hair pointer named Kasey Jones near 41st Avenue and Soquel Drive around 8 p.m. on Aug. 17 when passersby called 911. Sheriff's deputies found Klinger nearby.
Deputies arrested him, but Klinger was combative and tried to kick out the windows of the sheriff's cruiser, according to police. He was convicted of resisting arrest, attempted vandalism of a police car and animal abuse, Stosuy said.
The puppy was adopted by a family. He didn't suffer permanent injuries, according to Stosuy References |
