A Collierville neighbor called about a dog that was chained up in a field behind the house with no food or water.
"The owners said it barked too much so they just tied in the field and forgot about it," Nina Wingfield, director of Collierville Animal Services said.
The animal control officer left the dog there with plans to confiscate it the next day.
"When he got there, It was gone," Wingfield said. "They probably dumped it in the woods or in some neighborhood. "That's never going to happen again. We take the dog if it's a clear case of neglect or abuse." References |
