City police charged a 37-year-old Cohoes man Tuesday after he allegedly punched a police horse.
Jamison M. Johnson, of Mangamot Street, Cohoes, was arrested on a warrant for misdemeanor attempted killing or injuring a police animal.
According to police, Johnson was on Caroline Street at 2:55 a.m. Aug. 15 when he punched the horse, Jupiter.
The horse had been on a routine crowd-control patrol and was not injured.

Jamison M. Johnson, 37, of Mangamot Street, was arrested Tuesday on a warrant for attempted killing or injuring a police animal, a misdemeanor, and pleaded guilty in City Court Wednesday.
District Attorney James A. Murphy III said his office declined to offer a plea bargain in the case.
