The owner of a Denison property was arrested after law enforcement officers found a deceased dog in the back yard on March 23 at 11:55 a.m.

According to the police affidavit the dog was partially decomposed and was still tied to a rope leash, which was staked to the ground.

Jacquelina Barajas (Flores), 29 of Denison, was taken into custody March 24 and charged with animal neglect, a serious misdemeanor. She was held on $1,000 bond, which she posted the same day. Barajas’ initial court appearance is scheduled for March 30 at 9 a.m.
