Alleged: Bradley Steven Whitehead

A man will appear in court in Cairns next month after allegedly being sprung by his landlady trying to have his way with her pet dog.

Police allege Bradley Steven Whitehead, 37, was allegedly caught attempting to mount the great dane, named Missy, at a home at Endeavour Valley near Cooktown on December 12.

He was charged with attempted bestiality. The charge carries a maximum penalty of seven years' jail.

The case was scheduled for mention in Cairns Magistrates' Court on Feb 23, 2010, but Mr Whitehead did not appear in court and the case was adjourned to March 12, when he will be required to attend.

Mr Whitehead is also charged with possessing dangerous drugs and two counts of stealing.
