A humane officer in Kanawha County is investigating a possible animal cruelty case.
Kanawha County Sheriff's Deputies tell WSAZ.com the officer found a dead horse and another one that was near death at a home along Five Mile Hollow near Big Chimney.
It appears the horses were starved, according to Humane Officer Johnny Brotherton. One of the horses was decomposed.
The horses were taken from the house on June 10, 2009, but no charges have been filed. Brotherton tells WSAZ.com he plans to file felony charges against the animals' owner next week. References |
