A beagle was found completely encased in duct tape, placed in a garbage bag, and left to die in the woods off Drager Road.
According to a November 12 article in the North County Gazette, the four-year-old dog named Daisy had been missing for three weeks until Ed Dandaraw of Providence in Saratoga County found her over the weekend while hunting on his wooded property.
According to the article, "Dandaraw says he saw a black bag and then saw two brown legs coming from the bag. The bag moved and when he opened it, he was horrified to find a dog with its entire body wrapped in duct tape, including its entire head, except for a small hole around the animal’s nostrils which allowed her to get some air. The dog had been unable to see, hear or open its mouth."
After Dandaraw realized the dog was in fact still alive, he immediately took her to a vet.
She had lost about 20 pounds over the three week period she was missing, but the duct tape was removed and the vets say she'll survive. Daisy was identified by a microchip as belonging to neighbors of Dandaraw, and has since been reunited with her family.
