more information on voting
When you vote, you are voting on whether or not the punishment fit the crime, NOT on the severity of the case itself. If you feel the sentence was very weak, you would vote 1 star. If you feel the sentence was very strong, you would vote 5 stars.
Please vote honestly and realistically. These ratings will be used a a tool for many future programs, including a "Peoples Choice" of best and worst sentencing, DA and judge "report cards", and more. Try to resist the temptation to vote 1 star on every case, even if you feel that 100 years in prison isnt enough.

Grand jurors have indicted a woman on a charge of animal cruelty after she accused of abusing her family's pit bull puppy.
El Paso County Sheriff's deputies arrested Elva Ortega, 48, in June after the puppy was found with a deep gash on its neck.
Deputies alleged Ortega kept a collar that was too small around the dog's neck and caused the gash.
Ortega's relatives have said the dog was injured when its collar somehow flipped over and the spikes cut into its flesh.
Case UpdatesA state district judge has sentenced a woman to two years of probation after she pleaded guilty last week to animal cruelty.
Judge Marcos Lizarraga also ordered Elva Ortega, 50, to serve 200 hours of community service, 30 days in jail and $1,000 fine.
