A Dublin woman is offering a $100 reward to find out who shot her dog, Molly.
Dawn Moore said she found the 1-year-old Chihuahua bleeding and limping in her backyard Saturday, Oct. 17 in her fenced yard on Woodrow Street.
Moore works as a vet tech at Dublin Animal Hospital, so she said she immediately sprung into action. But she said what they found stunned her.
"She had a puncture wound consistent with being shot," veterinarian Jay Lord said.
Lord said he thinks someone shot Molly with a high powered BB gun or pellet gun.
I didn't hear any kind of gun or anything," Moore said. "Why would somebody shoot an innocent animal in their own backyard?"
She said Molly has a fractured leg and must wear a body cast for six weeks. Lord said if Molly doesn't get the surgery she needs, they may need to amputate her leg.
"This really shocked us, came out of the blue and we don't have the money to pay for that kind of treatment," Moore said.
Moore said she just wants to police to catch the person or people responsible.
