Police have charged a woman with animal cruelty after they say she hit a dog with a baseball bat.

Officers went to the home on Old Bronze Road Monday responding to a call about a domestic dispute. Police charged Damont Brooks with domestic assault because they say he attacked Kimberly Williams. They also arrested Williams because they determined she hit the dog, which belonged to Brooks.

The injuries to the dog were not life-threatening.
