Two dogs starved to death in storage room Savannah, GA (US)Incident Date: Friday, Oct 2, 2009 County: Chatham
Charges: Felony CTA Disposition: Alleged
Alleged: Elizabeth Carver
Two dogs are found dead in a storage closet and now one woman is facing animal cruelty charges.
Elizabeth Carver made her first appearance in a Chatham county courtroom Thursday afternoon.
Police arrested her on October 2 after animal control officers found the dogs dead in a small storage room where they say the woman used to live.
"The landlord advised when she got there, the shed or the door to the storage room was locked. She was unable to get in, so apparently the animals died from dehydration and starvation itself," said Star Cpl. George Smith with the Savannah-Chatham police.
Carver is charged with two counts of felony animal cruelty and has since bonded out of jail on a $3,000 bond.
Her next court date is set for October 20. References« GA State Animal Cruelty Map « More cases in Chatham County, GA
