Alleged: Darron Dewayne Denbow
A Vidor man is facing charges of dog fighting after he allegedly released a pit bull dog to attack another dog in the trailer park where he resided.
The Orange County grand jury met this week and returned an indictment against 28-year-old Darron Dewayne Denbow. If convicted of the state jail felony, he could face up to two years in a state jail facility.
According to Chad Hogan, Denbow has a “lengthy” criminal history. He also has ties to the Aryan Brotherhood.
The incident occurred November 18, 2008 at 206 FM 1131 in the Denbow Trailer Park in Vidor, according to reports from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.
Witnesses reported to deputies, Denbow released a red pit bull to attack another dog which caused the dogs to engage in a fight.
According to another witness, Denbow came into her yard and began releasing her dog. Denbow then encouraged the dog, Debo, to attack another dog. The second dog was a brindle pit bull named Ridge which belonged to a neighbor in the same trailer park. Ridge was already loose in the park.
A neighbor reportedly tried to breakup the fight between the dogs, but then Denbow allegedly became belligerent with the neighbor for his attempts.
After the fight stopped, Denbow reportedly took Debo and left the area. However, a short time later, Debo came back to home to his owner. She attempted to treat the dog's injuries. By the next morning, Debo was found dead on her porch, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.
Denbow was already confined in the Orange County Jail for failing to appear to face a drug charge. He remains in custody with bonds totaling $7,500. References |
