The first pit bull was suffering from bloody wounds to the face.

Then deputies found two more pit bulls tied up with injuries apparently from dog fighting.

And the prime suspects? Three teenagers, ages 14 to 15, according to San Bernardino County Sheriff’s officials.

Answering a report of dog fighting near Villa and Sandstone streets around 11:20 p.m. Tuesday night, Deputy Johnnie Mamon spotted a juvenile running away.

After catching the teen, the deputy checked the area and found two more teens in a vacant residence apparently used for dog fighting. Mamon also discovered two more pit bulls tied up and suffering from injuries, apparently from fighting, according to a sheriff ’s news release.

Two 15-year-olds were arrested and booked at the Apple Valley Juvenile Detention Center. The 14-year-old was cited and given a court date.
