An 8 year old boy is in serious trouble after being charged with torturing a kitten.� The boy told deputies that he hurt the 3-4 month old tabby because he was bored.

The kitten, named Tippy, suffered a fractured skull and�palate.� The kitten is recovering at Cats Exclusive in Margate (), Florida and will be ready for adoption soon.

The kitten was found by the Broward Sheriff's Department at the Canterbury Apartments on Northwest 34th Avenue after receiving a call that children were hurting an animal.� Tippy was bleeding from its mouth and nose and was having trouble breathing and taken to Coral Springs Animal Hospital for treatment.

Witnesses said the 8 year old had found the kitten in some bushes, picked it up, swung it by its tail, then slammed the stunned cat into the ground.

The boy whose name is being withheld because of his age has been charged with 3rd degree felony animal cruelty.
