Three dogs found dead, more neglected
Racine, WI (US)

Incident Date: Saturday, Sep 26, 2009
County: Racine

Disposition: Alleged

Alleged: Sara Ager

A Wisconsin woman sits in jail facing ten counts of animal neglect.

33 year old Sara Ager of Racine faces nearly 20 years behind bars after investigators found several deceased and mistreated animals on her property.

Acting on a tip, humane officers entered her home and allegedly found three deceased dogs, as well as a starving pit bull and snake.

Ager told humane officers the animals were quote "fine" about 4 days ago... but investigators say two of the dogs had been dead for at least two months.

Humane officers say the home was filled with animal feces and urine and no trace of food or water for the animals.

The two year-old pit bull and python are currently being nursed back to health.

Ager is expected back to be in court sometime next month.
