more information on voting
When you vote, you are voting on whether or not the punishment fit the crime, NOT on the severity of the case itself. If you feel the sentence was very weak, you would vote 1 star. If you feel the sentence was very strong, you would vote 5 stars.
Please vote honestly and realistically. These ratings will be used a a tool for many future programs, including a "Peoples Choice" of best and worst sentencing, DA and judge "report cards", and more. Try to resist the temptation to vote 1 star on every case, even if you feel that 100 years in prison isnt enough.

William J. Carboni
43 years of age
2923 Stonewater Drive, Naperville
Case UpdatesA man arrested and charged last summer with trying to poison his neighbor's three pet dogs on Naperville's far southwest side has been convicted in that case.
William J. Carboni, 44, was ordered to perform 300 hours of community service work, according to records on file in Will County Circuit Court in Joliet. A judge also placed him on two years of probation and ordered him to pay unspecified fines and legal costs, records showed.
Pretrial motions filed on Jan. 28 indicated a jury trial was to have begun Wednesday in Judge Sarah Jones' courtroom, records indicated. Carboni instead pleaded guilty March 24 in the case and was sentenced that day, according to records.
Naperville police charged Carboni with attempted aggravated cruel treatment of animals, a misdemeanor, after being called Sept. 2 to a house on the 2900 block of Cedar Glade Drive in the city's Woodlake area.
The homeowner said someone had tried to sicken or kill his two basset hounds and collie by lacing raw meat with mouse poison, police said last year. The homeowner said he discovered the tainted meat in his backyard.
Police said the man took all three dogs to an animal hospital for examination and preventative treatment. None of the pets were sickened or otherwise injured.
A subsequent investigation led to Carboni being charged Sept. 17 in the case. Police records showed officers had been sent three times to his home following complaints that the neighbor's dogs were barking. All of the complaints were deemed unfounded.
Carboni lived at the time on the 2900 block of Stonewater Drive. He reportedly now lives in Aurora. | Source: Suburban Chicago News - May 15, 2010 Update posted on May 16, 2010 - 2:11PM |
