A Wilson County woman is facing 13 animal cruelty charges after authorities broke up a puppy mill.

Ranna Michelle Scott, 38, gave away more than 180 dogs even though deputies told her to surrender them to the sheriff’s office. Deputies recovered most of those dogs she gave away, many of which were in poor health.

Officials say they have found homes for all the recovered animals for the time being.

Meanwhile, Scott is in the Wilson County Jail under a $20,000 secured bond. The investigation is ongoing.
