A witness with a keen eye for detail called the Belmont County Sheriff's Department, and now two men are in jail.

It happened Tuesday night on Mt. Victory Road near Jacobsburg.

Two men in a pick-up truck stopped and threw a small kitten against a stop sign.

The witness called the sheriff's department and a deputy tracked down the two suspects, and jailed them for animal cruelty.

The witness picked up the kitten and took it to the vet.

There's no word yet on its condition.
