Dogs neglected, starving
Valley Vista, AZ (US)

Incident Date: Tuesday, Aug 25, 2009
County: Mohave

Charges: Misdemeanor
Disposition: Alleged

Alleged: Heather Bridget Kral

A 37-year-old woman has been booked on six counts of animal cruelty after Mohave County sheriff's deputies serve a search warrant.

Heather Kral was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, four counts of not having a dog license and two counts of being over dog limit.

A Mohave County animal control enforcement officer who went to a home in Valley Vista on Tuesday found a German Shepard locked in a plastic travel crate sitting in the sun without any water, deputies said.

Another dog was located on the front porch, deputies said. Both animals were emaciated and their fur was falling out.

The officer took custody of both dogs. There were also more dogs inside the home, deputies said.

At about 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, a search warrant was executed at the home and deputies said they found a make-shift pipe with burnt residue and four unhealthy dogs.

Kral was taken into custody without incident. Child Protective Services responded and took custody of Kral's 2-year-old child.

MCAC enforcement officer took possession of the dogs.

Kral was booked into Mohave County Jail.
