A woman who lives on Cedar Branch Road told Davidson County deputies that her neighbor shot and killed her Siberian husky.

Deputies said the neighbor, Michael Ray Shell, was charged with possession of a firearm by a felon.

Shell was not charged with animal cruelty because the dog had been killing his chickens, deputies said. Deputies said the dog had gotten out of its fence.

Shell was being held on a $15,000 bond.
