Police in Annville have charged the owner of two pythons with animal cruelty after he allegedly set them loose in the Stone Hill Park.

James Paul DeBock, 41, of Cleona, was cited for two summary counts of animal cruelty and two summary counts of introduction of non-native species into the wild.

Police said DeBock released the snakes in the park along the Quittapahilla Creek on July 3.

The animals were captured July 10 and 16.
