A deaf pit bull was stolen from a yard in the Ridgewood neighborhood just outside Joliet last week while it was playing with two grown dogs on the 200 block Grinton Avenue, police said.

The 2 ½ -year-old male, named Lucifer, is all white, with brown around the eyes and the tip of his tail. The owner told Will County sheriff's police she contacted the Joliet Township animal control department and learned several pit bulls in the area have been stolen recently.
