more information on voting
When you vote, you are voting on whether or not the punishment fit the crime, NOT on the severity of the case itself. If you feel the sentence was very weak, you would vote 1 star. If you feel the sentence was very strong, you would vote 5 stars.
Please vote honestly and realistically. These ratings will be used a a tool for many future programs, including a "Peoples Choice" of best and worst sentencing, DA and judge "report cards", and more. Try to resist the temptation to vote 1 star on every case, even if you feel that 100 years in prison isnt enough.

Pit bull puppy with multiple fractures Clackamas, OR (US)Incident Date: Friday, May 22, 2009 County: Clackamas
Charges: Misdemeanor Disposition: Convicted
Defendant/Suspect: George Antonio Davis
Case Updates: 1 update(s) available
Deputies cited a man on animal abuse charges and seized a pit bull puppy from his home on Friday.
Deputies and Oregon Humane Society investigators responded to a home on Southeast Lawnfield Road after a report of animal abuse and found a female pit bull puppy that had injuries that appeared to be caused by chronic and constant abuse, OHS investigators said.
The dog's owner, George Davis, was cited on charges of second-degree animal abuse and first-degree animal neglect, and the puppy was seized and taken to a veterinarian for medical treatment, OHS investigators said.
Investigators said Davis told them that he knew the puppy was injured but didn't seek treatment for the dog that they've now named Sierra.
"The X-rays revealed that this puppy has multiple fractures of the ribs, fractures to both eye sockets, front of the skull and right front leg," said Dr. Kris Otteman of OHS. "It is unfathomable to me that someone could hurt a defenseless puppy."
Otteman said despite the abuse that Sierra remained a friendly, playful puppy.
OHS investigators said it's likely that because of the severity of the puppy's injuries they would recommend that the district attorney seek harsher penalties against Davis.
Davis has at least two prior arrests on assault charges relating to domestic violence, although the complaints were dismissed prior to trial.
Case UpdatesGeorge Antonio Davis, who inflicted multiple injuries on a young pit bull puppy was sentenced today [Oct 9, 2009] to 30 days in jail for animal abuse and neglect, according to authorities.
The puppy suffered multiple fractures of the ribs, the skull and both eye sockets, as well as a broken right front leg, according to The Oregon Humane Society.
Davis, of Clackamas, made headlines on May 28th when he was arrested for animal cruelty in a joint investigation by the Clackamas Country Sheriff’s Department and OHS. Davis pleaded guilty to second degree animal abuse and neglect on Oct. 6th.
Meanwhile, the pit bull puppy has received medical care at OHS and has recovered from her injuries under the care of an OHS foster parent. The puppy, named Sierra, will be made available for adoption later this month. | Source: KOIN Local 6 - Oct 9, 2009 Update posted on Oct 12, 2009 - 3:26AM |
