Anderson, IN (US)

Incident Date: Friday, Jun 5, 2009
County: Madison

Charges: Misdemeanor
Disposition: Alleged

Alleged: Suzanne M. Cox

An Anderson woman faces a criminal charge over allegations she failed to properly care for a horse.

Suzanne M. Cox, 47, 2916 E. Madison County Road 100-S, is charged with cruelty to an animal, a Class B misdemeanor carrying a maximum 180-day jail term.

Prosecutors allege the horse, named Sampson, did not have adequate access to food or water while being housed in the 5100 block of South Bell Creek Road.

Cox, who has denied that allegation, has since sold the animal.

An initial hearing is set for July 1 in Delaware Circuit Court 1.
