Horse neglect - six horses, one pony seized

Police have charged the owner of six horses and a pony found living in what they call deplorable conditions.

A Dillon County sheriff's report says the animals were so underfed, the ribs and hip bones were showing. Tuesday night, deputies arrested Glenn Chestnut at his Dillon home and charged him with animal cruelty.

Chestnut has been released from jail on an $800 bond.

In the coming weeks, Chestnut will appear in magistrate court for a hearing to see if he can get his animals back
