Bessemer, AL (US)

County: Jefferson

Charges: Felony CTA
Disposition: Alleged

Alleged: Aquinaldo Tabb

Bessemer police seized 21 pit bulls Wednesday at a house they searched in a drug investigation.

The Bessemer Police Department Special Operation Unit conducted the search in the 900 block Cunningham Avenue.

Police said the dogs found at the house were in poor health and had cut and bruises on them indicated they may have been used in a dogfighting operation. Police also found "paraphernalia and equipment" in the house that was "consistent with illegal dog fighting (sic)," according to a police statement.

Aquinaldo Tabb, 29, was arrested on drug paraphernalia and stolen property charges. Felony animal cruelty charges were also filed against Tabb, police said. Bond was set at $15,000.
