Case Updates

Terrence Penney of Star Realty in Harbour Grace says he is adding $1000 to the existing reward to capture the persons responsible for an act of animal cruelty in the Whitbourne area. Whitbourne RCMP found a Labrador mix dog in a pond in the New Harbour/Dildo area this week. Penney says as an animal lover and a dog owner this case really hits close to home. He says he will give his thousand dollars to the SPCA until the RCMP bring these people to justice.

Crimestoppers offers rewards of up to $2000 for tips. RCMP Coordinator with Crimestoppers, Corporal Steve Conohan, says Penney's reward will have to be held in trust until the investigation runs its course. He says the Crimestoppers Board will then make the determination of what reward amount will be given for tips related to the case.
