Threw 3 kittens into the air, letting them land on concrete - 2 killed, 1 seriously injured Oklahoma City, OK (US)Incident Date: Tuesday, Jun 3, 2003 County: Oklahoma
Disposition: Not Charged

A two-week-old kitten that was injured after a 13-year-old boy threw it in the air and let it slam to the concrete is making small steps toward recovery. Two other kittens were killed in the attack.
The surviving kitten, named Sole by her veterinarian caretakers because she was the lone survivor of Monday's attack, is suffering from brain damage, said veterinarian Jackie Puterbaugh of Central Animal Hospital.
Sole has stopped having seizures and is moving around and eating more, veterinarians said.
Jana Bene, who owned the kittens, said a 13-year-old boy doing lawn work at her apartment complex saw the kittens and threw them into the air.
"He let them splat onto the concrete," Bene said. Bene said the kittens' mother, Eden, was there during the alleged attack. "She was freaking out," she said.
Since then, Bene said Eden has been despondent.
"When I'm at the house, she's constantly in and out of the house, frantically looking for them," she said. Bene claimed the teenager showed no remorse after the attack.
