A south metro police department is turning to the Internet to solve crimes. They are using a blog to get the public's help.
On the blog, you can see the latest surveillance video and pictures of suspects in action. The most recent one Chaska posted on Wednesday.
Debra Winrow, manager of Noah's Ark Fish and Pet Supple store, treats her Holland Lop bunnies like babies, so when someone came into her store and killed two bunnies she was heartbroken.
"They didn't move or anything, they were just limp," Winrow said.
Winrow was about to lock up the store in Excelsior last Wednesday when she says a man called from the Super America nearby.
"He said he was on his way here to buy a Holland Lop and it had to be a Holland Lop," Winrow said.
Winrow showed him to the bunny cage and left him to help other customers. A short time later she says he came to the register with one bunny in his hand, paid $45 in cash for it and rushed out. When she went back to the cage, she found the bunnies dead.
"I picked up the bodies of the bunnies and I just held them and rocked them and I couldn't believe someone would kill my babies," she said.
South Lake Minnetonka Police suspect the man, whose identity is shown on surveillance video from a Super America camera, snapped the bunnies' necks. They don't know his name or where he lives, but they've posted his picture on Chaska's police blog in hopes that someone might.
Since the blog was created Tuesday, detectives have posted three crimes, including a woman whose identity was stolen and a man who police say stole tobacco at a store in Chaska.
When you provide information to police on the blog, it goes straight to the investigators and will not be published. You can provide your name or remain anonymous.References |
