more information on voting
When you vote, you are voting on whether or not the punishment fit the crime, NOT on the severity of the case itself. If you feel the sentence was very weak, you would vote 1 star. If you feel the sentence was very strong, you would vote 5 stars.
Please vote honestly and realistically. These ratings will be used a a tool for many future programs, including a "Peoples Choice" of best and worst sentencing, DA and judge "report cards", and more. Try to resist the temptation to vote 1 star on every case, even if you feel that 100 years in prison isnt enough.

A Suffolk woman was arrested over the weekend on a charge of animal cruelty.
Catina Michelle Beasley, 36, allegedly was involved in the care of a puppy. At some point, a harness was put on the pup and, as he grew, the harness wasn't removed, according to Norfolk-based People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals.
Daphna Nachminovitch with PETA says the group got the dog in mid-December so the dog could have surgery. She released a photo of the dog taken before the procedure.
From there, he went to a foster home for recovery.
"He has since been adopted by someone who saw him with the foster parents," Nachminovitch said.
The dog's name is Buxton and he's living in Hampton with his new owners.
PETA went to the Magistrate's Office in Suffolk and swore the charges out.
Beasley, who was released on a summons, is due for arraignment on the misdemeanor charge on March 6, according to the Suffolk General District Court online docket.
Case UpdatesA Suffolk mother and son were convicted of Animal Cruelty in a case brought by the animal rights group PETA.
The pair is said to be responsible for allowing their puppy's collar to embed itself in the dog's skin, leading to a serious infection. Veterinarians had to surgically remove the harness from the animal.
A Suffolk Criminal Court Judge barred 18-year-old Calvin Holland and his mother, Catina Beasley, from ever owning companion animals again.
Additionally, Holland could face jail time if he does not repay the puppy's medical costs by September 1.
