Dog thrown off 50 foot overpass in revenge Dallas, TX (US)Incident Date: Saturday, Feb 14, 2009 County: Denton
Disposition: Alleged
Alleged: man
A 36-year-old man may face animal cruelty charges after a woman's dog was thrown off a highway overpass, authorities said today.
According to a Dallas police report, the man, who has not been publicly identified, called the woman on Saturday -- Valentine's Day -- to tell her he was going to kill her dog, Pablo, out of revenge. The report gave no details about the disagreement between the man and the woman.
A few minutes later, the report said, the man told the woman, "Your dog is dead. You will never see him again. Pablo is dead."
Police later found the dog dead under the Spur 408 (Patriot Parkway) bridge on Interstate 20 in southwest Dallas.
It appeared to investigators that the pet had been thrown off the overpass, a distance of about 50 feet.
Investigators are still trying to determine whether to charge the man with animal torture, a felony, a police spokesman said this morning. References |
