An anonymous tip led to five people being arrested and charged with attending a cockfight Saturday afternoon, according the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.
Acting on the tip, deputies found a cockfight in progress about 5:30 p.m. at 5202 Calhoun Road in Plant City. About 20 people were at the fight, deputies said, and most fled upon seeing authorities.
Deputies arrested five people: Edward Galdez, 43, of Tampa; Hector Lozado, 57, or Orlando; Jose Ramos, 73, of Brandon; Jose Ramirez, 36, of Valrico; and a 14-year-old who the Times will not identify because of her age. They face felony charges of participating in a cockfight.
