Suspect(s) Unknown - We need your help!

A gruesome case of animal abuse leaves two pitbulls in Springfield dead. Animal Control and Springfield Police are working together to piece together the bizarre puzzle that unfolded at 1:30 p.m. Sunday.

They aren't sure who is responsible, but they say the dogs were found in the backyard of a home at 529 Union Street badly stabbed.

Because the dogs' injuries were so severe, the animals had to be put asleep.

If you have any information about this you are asked to call Springfield Police.
